Professor Imre RURIK is a Chairman of the Department of Family & Occupational Medicine, Faculty of Public Health, University of Debrecen, Hungary. He is a practising family physician in Budapest as well. He got a PhD degree at the Semmelweis University, Budapest in 2003 with the theses “The nutrition of elderly” and obtained a DSc degree “The burden of obesity in primary care” at the Hungarian Academy of Science in 2015. He is a President of Hungarian Societies of Nutrition and the H. Research Association of Family Physicians and a Vice-president of the H. Association for the Study of Obesity. His main research topics cover the nutritional related metabolic diseases.
